Not-Your-Mom's Book Club
This would probably more accurately be called a library club, rather than a book club. We will be decorating things for the library, doing activities based on literature, and brainstorming new books for the library and ways to improve our services. We meet in the library on Mondays, after school, from 3:00 until 4:30 (you will have time to catch the activity bus if needed). You can join at any time - come check it out!
Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair is just around the corner!! For those of you who may not know, the book fair is our library's only source of income; the money we make goes entirely towards the purchase of new books, the incentives for our reading challenge to motivate kids to read, and the general upkeep of our media center. We rely completely on the support of our awesome parents to keep our library relevant and current, and could not do what we do without your help!
In keeping with our reading challenge, the theme for this year's book fair is "Book Fair Time Machine". Sadly, we don't have a DeLorean to help us, but we do have books! Here is some information about the fair this year:
* Classes will be visiting the fair starting on Tuesday, October 26th, and will continue through Friday, November 5th. You can either send money with your child, or put money in eWallet for them (video and link below). We take cash, check or credit card.
* We will also be open during parent/teacher conferences, so you are more than welcome to come in and shop in person, maybe pick up a few early Christmas gifts and enter for a chance to win a prize basket valuing over $100!! No need to reserve a time - just come on in and browse around!
